Chicago Basin 14ers
Did this "all-star" level expedition. The Chicago Basin 14ers consist of Sunlight, Windom, Eolus, & N. Eolus peaks. All over 14,000 feet tall. This hike was a challenge doing it in full. 40 miles with 11,000 feet elevation gain is not a task for the inexperienced or faint of heart. I did this hike in 3 days with the first and last day hiking from camp with weight. Doing it this way puts you in an elite group of hiking, however there are easier ways to complete this hike. The summit day took much longer than expected, and there are a lot of different forums and hikers with different reviews. My review is to do Sunlight & Windom first, then the Eolus peaks. Also prepare for the whole day to take between 12 and 16 hours depending on your skill level. Summit day for me was 14 hours but I started and ended and 10,000 feet just before/after the Chicago basin to avoid the crowds.
