Churchill Manitoba - Kayaking with Belugas/Exploring the town/train ride through Canada
This trip is something I had told myself I would do since visiting SeaWorld in San Diego once. I said to myself that I would see the Beluga whales in the wild. So I searched for the best place to do so, and it just so happens it's a 2-day train ride one way up to the subarctic to get there. My trip to Churchill was amazing. The train ride up was very relaxing, although uneasy to sleep at times. When in Churchill, it's a small community that thrives on tourism, so be sure to participate in local activities, tour the town, and discover what their culture has to offer. When it comes to the whales, you can visually see my progress in getting better and better at recording them. Additionally, you can tell they get very close to the kayak and at times bump into it; it's terrifying, but you will not fall in. Belugas are known to be talkative, curious, and playful. I've always had a peculiar affection for these sea creatures, and I'm pleased to have had the opportunity to see them in the wild in Churchill, Manitoba, through Lazy Bear Lodge.
